Answers To Your Questions
What will the weather be like in January or February?
The weather in the Trentino Region of the Italian Alps and more specifically the “Val di Sole: area is usually sunny, dry and cold. The region also has the ability to become filled with mixed clouds and snow – a skier’s paradise! Basically same general weather conditions in the Cortina d’ Ampezzo area as well.
The temperature ranges from 5 to 35 degrees Fahrenheit, or a range of -15 to 1.6 degrees Centigrade.

What are the ski conditions like?
February in the past has always been the best skiing month. Conditions are not like spring skiing. That usually doesn’t occur until mid to end of March. Usually light to packed powder in January and February.
Will I need lots of clothing?
Not necessarily lots of clothing, but warm clothing, and we suggest dressing in layers. Also, be sure to bring the long johns! Dress for evening is “ski casual,” not dressy.
Will I need to bring along foreign currency?
You may want to bring some Euro Dollars with you as you will be arriving on a weekend and most banks are closed. However, there are ATM Machines in close proximity to the Hotel. There is a bank very close by — only about a 2-3 minute walk which would be able to offer an exchange rate better than the hotel would be able to. American travelers checks are accepted in Italy, as well as Visa, Master Card and American Express. On any major purchases, the credit card will always give you the best exchange rate. Larger establishments will accept the cards readily, although some smaller ones may not.
If you would like to figure out more about currency conversion, please see the converter available in our “Site Tools” section.

Can I bring along my own skis and boots, or will I need to rent them?
We strongly suggest that you consider renting your ski equipment in Italy. You may want to bring your boots with you. Prices are reasonable and the quality is excellent. Our experience is that airlines seem to have an affinity for either losing ski equipment, or delivering it days after arrival.
You are certainly welcome to bring your own equipment if you wish. Bearing in mind that with most airlines you are allowed to take 1 piece of checked baggage, 1 carry on, and a personal item. Everything else costs extra including sports equipment. Most airlines ask that skis and snowboards be “encased” in either a cardboard, or fiberglass case, or in a bag. If in a bag, some will ask you to sign a “limited release tag” limiting their liability in case of damage.
Ski Lessons are also available at reasonable cost. If we can answer any questions, or provide any additional information, please feel free to call us!
