5 Amazing Ski Resorts in Italy

ski-resorts-in-italy.comAlthough Italy might not be the first place that comes to mind when planning your ski vacation, it is actually an extremely popular destination. With its breathtaking views, small quaint villages and many different options Italy should be your next ski trip destination. Even though there are many different parts of Northern Italy that would give you the experience you desire we put together the top five resorts that would make your Italy ski vacation worth your while.

  1. Cervinia
Cervinia is one of the largest resorts in the Alps. Sharing the mountain with two other countries makes Cervinia an adventure in its own. Being able to go back and forth between Italy and Switzerland in a matter of a one-day’s ride is quite incredible.
  2. Bardonecchia
Famous for their World Cup competitions as well as many other competitions, this resort is well known for its love of snowboarding. This resort has its own snow park that includes all of your snowboard trick essentials. The snow park is for snowboarders of all levels to enjoy.
  3. Madonna de Campiglio
Located in the Dolomites, this resort is completely surrounded by mountains. Along with the picturesque village these mountains offer a variety of snow activities along with your classic downhill skiing such as cross-country.

  5. Selva di Val Gardena
This authentic and fashionable resort is famous for its quaint village centers. With many food options and entertainment always on deck what is not to love? As for the 175 different runs and the many different ski options this resort is hard to beat.
  6. Cortina d’Ampezzo
Famous for its backdrops in movies as well as its many world cup appearances, this resort is just about as glamorous as its guests. With its shopped-lined streets and restaurants filling up every block you will always have something to do. With five different runs there is a slope for every type of skier.

As noted before, there are numerous places to stay in Northern Italy if you want to right skiing experience but these five all have a little something extra to offer. There is nothing like a small village with a historical background, noticing a slope from a movie scene or even being able to travel back and forth between countries with just a ride in a ski lift. All of these traits and more should give you enough reason to pack your bags and start skiing in Italy.
