Essentials to Pack For Your Italian Ski Vacation

ski-equipmentThe worst part about any vacation is the days leading up to it. The stress of deadlines, travel delays, and last but not least, making sure you packed everything you think you may need. So whether you are traveling to Italy to shred down the numerous mountain sides or you are going to experience the quaint villages and surrounding towns, or you may even want to incorporate a little bit of both, we have all of your packing essentials covered.

Here are 4 things to remember on your next Italian ski vacation:

  1. Leave your skis at home
Whether you are a pro, beginner or somewhere in between you’re going to need to pack a little differently than those of your party who do not plan on nailing their half pipe tricks during this trip. For starters, leave your skis at home. It makes traveling that much more difficult if you try and bring along your skis, poles, boards, bindings, boots and whatever else you may need. At every resort you have the option to rent out equipment for the day and we suggest that you highly consider it. However, you are more than welcome to arrive with your own equipment and use that throughout your trip.
  2. Ski clothes
Besides equipment, there are a lot of other pieces you should most definitely pack if you plan on coming down the mountain or even if you are just taking a scenic break. For starters, clothing, ski jackets and ski pants are a must. This will help keep you warm for the majority of the day as well as protect you from any wetness from the snow. Next, layers, layers and more layers. Layers are crucial and you can never have too many. You can always take them off if you get too warm, but you cannot add more layers if you do not have them with you.

  4. Ski Accessories
Make sure you pack your hats, helmets, ski goggles, gloves, glove liners, mittens, neck gator, ski socks, and anything else you may need to protect your head and open skin from the winter conditions and temperatures. Again, it never hurts to over pack on these things because nine times out of ten you will thank yourself later.
  5. Miscellaneous items
There are always items that you forget to think about that will really come in handy once you head out to hit slopes, and you will be glad you have them. These include hand and feet warmers, water-proof snow boots, and don’t forget to bring the sunscreen, because yes you will most likely get some color.

Make your Italian ski vacation a trip to remember by not forgetting to bring any of the essential items you will need. Pack wisely, and you will be sure to enjoy an Italian ski vacation to remember.
